Red Light Therapy and Hair Loss — What Two Trials in Men and Women Found

Two randomised, double-blind, sham-controlled trials in Lasers in Surgery and Medicine tested 16 weeks of home-use 655 nm red-light therapy in 41 men (2013) and 47 women (2014) with androgenetic alopecia. The active groups showed a 39 percent (men) and 37 percent (women) increase in terminal hair counts at 16 weeks compared with sham (both p < 0.0001).
