Red Light Therapy and Chronic Neck Pain — What a Lancet Meta-Analysis of 16 Trials Found

A 2009 systematic review and meta-analysis in The Lancet pooled 16 randomised controlled trials covering 820 patients with acute and chronic non-specific neck pain. Low-level laser therapy reduced pain by a mean 19.86 mm on the 100 mm visual analogue scale immediately after treatment compared with placebo, with significant reductions sustained out to 22 weeks of follow-up.
