Red Light Therapy and Diabetic Nerve Pain — What a 200-Patient Trial Found

A 2025 single-blinded randomised controlled trial in 200 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy tested ten daily sessions of low-level helium-neon laser therapy against sham. The active group showed significant reductions in neuropathic pain, improved protective foot sensation and quality of life, with neuron-specific biomarkers shifting in the same direction.
