Red Light Therapy and Oral Mucositis — What a Meta-Analysis of 14 Trials Found

A 2024 systematic review and meta-analysis in Head & Neck pooled 14 randomised trials covering 869 head and neck cancer patients receiving chemoradiotherapy. Photobiomodulation significantly reduced the incidence and severity of oral mucositis from the second week of treatment onward — supporting its use as an evidence-based supportive-care intervention.
